Airfare to Uganda

Team members should purchase their own airfare to and from Uganda. You will fly into Entebbe, Uganda (EBB)  We recommend Consolidator Webfares for these airline tickets. Their website link is below. However, you may use whatever agency you would like or purchase tickets directly from the airlines. You may also use airline miles if you have them available. Team members must arrive in Uganda on February 11th and leave Uganda on February 23rd or 24th unless prior written permission is given by SMI.

If you aren’t comfortable purchasing your own tickets, we are happy to help you facilitate your purchase once payment is received.

PLEASE NOTE: we accept credit cards for payment towards this trip, however, a 2.5% fee will be added to the total amount charged to cover the fees that will be charged to Show Mercy.

The costs of traveling with Show Mercy to Uganda as a volunteer is tax deductible since we are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. We will issue receipts for all donations or payments made towards your trip. If you have any questions, please see your tax professional or accountant for details.

Fund raising: Very Important- Please read carefully.

Once you have applied and submitted your $500 deposit and are approved as a team member for the trip, a fund will be set up in your name so that others can contribute towards your trip and receive a tax deductible donation receipt. We encourage you to give others an opportunity to sow into your trip and receive the blessing that come through giving into this work. Please understand that Show Mercy will withhold a 5% fee from all donations received from anyone other than the actual team member to offset the costs of costs of processing and receipting these donations.

****If for some reason you are unable to travel on the trip, donations will not be returned to the donors or given to the team member but will be used to further our mission in Uganda. Any donations received in excess of the of the cost of the trip will also not be returned to the donors or given to the team member. If you are unable to travel on this trip, the funds will remain for 18 months in your name so that you can travel on another Show Mercy team.

Specific Skills Sets
There might be opportunities on this trip for skilled labor such as carpenters, painters, masons, finishers, tile setters, electricians or other folks with similar construction skills. We are working on our Field of Dreams project and should be at a place in the process where these skills could come in very handy if that is the way you choose to serve. We could also use those that have skills in landscaping design and implementation on this trip.  Please let us know if you possess any of these skills.

Of course, anyone with the ability to love and serve is welcome to come as usual!
